Blog Weekend Bootcamp: A Homecoming of Sorts

The participants and organizers

In the past months, I have always seen Davao Bloggers’ activities in my FB newsfeed and there is this constant wish of mine to be part of the group. However, I noticed most of the bloggers I see in the event photos are younger than me, and geez, I might feel way out of their league so I just kept on lurking. Good thing, one of the officers/organizers, Karla, informed me about the Blogger Weekend Bootcamp (held on Sept 21-23, 2012) and reassured me that there are also mommies like me who actively blog and are frequent attendees in local blogger events.

See, I started writing since highschool and that’s like ages ago. And for the past few years, my job online has been focused on editing articles, SEO (search engine optimization) building, customer support, and the like. Although I have a personal blog here and I had another one in Friendster ( which died) years ago, I never really wrote regularly due to the heavy schedule I have at work ( gah, excuses, excuses). And this to me, is a chance to revive my penchant for writing again.

Bootcamp gear.

So there I was preparing for the bootcamp, (hmmm, the word bootcamp sounds so Barbie-doll~ish, but I was actually excited!) and was looking forward for the mini-vacation cum seminar amidst the relaxing ambiance of Malagos Garden Resort.

My pass!!!

And what made it even more exciting was the roster of speakers who were experts in their own rights. Janette Toral, Aileen Apolo, Rene Lizada, Jojie Alcantara, Jay Frank de Jesus and more!

Apart from the exciting line-up of activities, the registration fee of Php 1500 ( Php1300 for the early registrants) was a major come-on. It was definitely Β a steal, as it already included bootcamp materials, full meals & snacks, and accommodations for 3 days and 2 nights. ‘San ka pa?

The tools.

In a nutshell, I’m glad I came and joined the rest of the Davao bloggers. I made new good friends and renewed my flair for sharing my random thoughts and what-nots in an online platform. Β I am now a certified blogger, again!
